This Mohave Rattlesnake is flicking it's tongue in and attempt top sense what is happening around it. Snakes use their tongues to collect chemicals from the air and ground. A snakes tongue, does not have receptors to taste or smell. The snakes receptors are in the Jacobson's Organ, or vomeronasal in the roof of their mouth. Once in the Jacobson's Organ differing chemicals create different electrical signals sent to their brain. I was thinking this snake really liked my after shave...
