Artist's Description
As I drove into the parking lot at the Fort Beale trailhead, near Kingman, Az I noticed this Mohave Rattlesnake slithering onto the asphalt. I was immediately out of the car and on the ground and in front of this reptile with a 70-200 lens. Please note: Unless you are experienced with photographing these venomous reptiles DO NOT attempt to photograph or handle these creatures in any manner. DO NOT attempt to pose these creatures with any kind of stick. DO NOT attempt to get up close and personal with one of these creatures. Their natural response when you get within their space is to strike out in defense.
